patience with Sally
Start slowly

when training your 'Sally' to be more cooperative, start slowly with small behavioral changes.  First, use a chew each short walk. Gradually, reward your 'Sally' with a regular treat & skip or replace the SuperSnouts treat.

Sassy Sally. Punishing bad behavior won't teach a dog what it did wrong.
don't punish Sally!

avoid punishing Sally; she won't know what it means; instead, focus on directing good behavior with positive reinforcement.

barking on a walk

first, don't let your Sally walk ahead or tug on their harness- pups take it as a signal. Start with a small calming treat 1 hr. before leaving.

Next, if you see a pup, avoid head-on walking; mix it up a bit!

Reward good behavior

if your Sally did exceptionally well on her walk, let her know! give her a treat (not a calming treat), preferably when the good behavior happens. you can even use a treat if she's quiet; this is great conditioning.
